All Along the Seascape

by Harry Hood

All along the seascape
My thoughts did roam
Across the cutting waves
Amidst the arching foam

The turbulence on the surface
The calmness deep below
The million different currents
A mirror of my soul

This mighty ocean state
The nirvana I must obtain
To match the crashing booms and lulls
That echo in my brain

I look out to the sea
It seems to fill my mind
With thoughts and sense and vision
That break free of passing time

Now my back is turned
The coast far behind
I only have to close my eyes
To hear the beating tide.
